A Word From Your Executive Director

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name: worship the Lord in the
splendor of holiness. Psalm 29:2

The Lord is good to us all the time
and in time of trouble, difficulty, sickness and despair this life throws us into
we can praise His name and give Him glory. As many of you know Lydia
snapped her tendon on her right foot, and had surgery. She is now laid up for
8 months?? She is adjusting and I am too to this new adventure. Many of
you have responded by sending gift cards so she doesn’t have to eat my
cooking and food too. We have enjoyed every bit of it and thank God for
you. I would name you all but that would take up too much space. Thank you for your prayers
as we carry this time of growing in the Lord. He is always blessing us in the middle of life.
Your Association continues to move forward. We have had the privilege of being at Anastasia
Baptist Church 3 weeks in a row at different campus sharing our front porch and fishing hole
experience with the church. Thanks to Sylvia Johnson who stepped up big time and helped at the
Island campus. Many people heard about our work and found out that we don’t ask for funds
from individuals (even though we will accept it) but that through the gifts in the offering plate we
receive our support. Thank you all for giving to your local church ministry. It is through your
tithes and offerings that we are able to minister here locally and around the world.
I have had the privilege of working with churches and seeing them call pastors and get help in
their ministries. We are praying with pastors and having fellowships around book studies. Dan
Holland is doing a great job leading the Leader Advancement team. We will be having our
Christmas dinner on DECEMBER 3, Monday Night. Please put this on your calendar. It will be
an excellent time of fellowship, pictures and food.

Our time to worship together as an Association is coming up October 18, Thursday afternoon and
evening. We will have music and preaching each session and 4 breakouts. Please come and
bring a few with you to eat with us. This starts at 3pm so our Senior Adults can come out and
worship with us before dark. We will have our business reports. You will not want to miss the
testimonies of what God is doing through your support of the Association.
Please continue to pray for Lydia and I in this time of her recovery. 8 months is a long time to
not be doing what you normally do so keep us in prayer. She has also taken another job in this
time. She is the new Executive Director of St. Johns Women’s Refuge. Pray for her in this great
work of helping women who need a place to Study God’s Word and stay in a safe environment

after prison or where they need this place to stay sober and clean.

Call me if you need anything!

And certainly call me if you are eating!

Blessings!

Asa & Lydia

Verse of the day

“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
