A Word From Your Executive Director

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things

are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of

good report,; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Philippians 4:8 KJV

This is a great time to be alive. There are people to reach and lots to do for the hurting and

needy in the name of the Lord Jesus. He has given us all we need to make that happen. God is

at work in and through us if we will just open our eyes to Him and not to ourselves. You know

or maybe you don’t, I know how hard it is to keep my eyes off myself. We live in a selfish world

where we do things for ourselves, our comfort, the comfort of our children. Who really suffers

when we do these things? The Lost World does. I just finished a whirlwind trip to France, on a

mission trip, and Birmingham for the Southern Baptist Convention. Each place had its own

challenges to me. Each place God was speaking boldly. In France, we took with us representa

tives from 5 different churches. This trip was led by Lydia Greear and Anastasia Baptist Church.

We helped train a church in outreach and I had the privilege of preaching there. We continue

this relationship with this church in the future. We were able to reach over 500 people with

connecting cards and a personal invite. We also had a pancake supper and a concert for the

evening. The whole church got involved doing different things. We thank the Lord for this partnership with One Heart Church.

The International Mission Board Missionary that is there working with an unreached people group in the area now has been

linked to this church for future ministry. Lives touched and lives changed for all eternity. Thank you for your prayer support and

help. A special thanks to two couples who helped with this trip. We also went into the countryside of France to a town called

Buzancais where an IMB missionary couple have retired. They have an unfinished church building there. We were able to help in

the construction and have another concert in a small village. Reaching people with the gospel, one event, one personal story at a

time.

The Southern Baptist Convention is alive and well. “Who is your one” is a new challenge from the leadership for us to pick one

person for this year and pray for them and share with them through the scriptures the love of Jesus. We will be doing trainings

and rallies to see this begin to take place here. If every person would go after one, in concentrated prayer and sharing the scriptures

and love of Jesus we would double our church size. Let’s commit to this opportunity. Call us to come help you.

Another challenge from the convention is on safety in the church. This is more than danger from an outsider, this is from within.

We have committed as an association at our April meeting to have 0 tolerance for any sexual abuse that is caused by any volunteer

or minister in our churches. It is no longer a thing to be swept under the rug. It must be reported, and the letter of the law

followed. Our churches must be the safest place on earth for all those who are coming to seek our Savior Jesus Christ and the

love, hope and peace He gives. This is a tough conversation, but we must step up and have this. We know what has happened in

the Catholic Church because of non-reporting of such acts. Call our office if you need help in how to set this in motion or if you

know of such a problem. We will help you walk through this.

Wow our world has lots of challenges yet our Savior, Jesus, has all power. Power to overcome evil and give life is how we are to

live. Oh, praise His name for the power of the resurrection. We need each other in this day and time. We need to stay together

and focus on Jesus. I pray you are with us and want to be a part of all God is doing in this day and time.

I thank God I just finished my 12th year here as your Executive Director. God has blessed us so much here as we serve you our

churches. Oh, praise the name of the Lord. Pray for me as I teach “The Mind of Christ” at Interlachen FBC

and “The Bible Jesus Read” at Beulah. Call me, as Sunday morning is the time I am visiting the churches. Let

me know how I can serve you.
love you all.

Call me if you need anything!

Blessings!

 Asa & Lydia

Verse of the day

“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
